Lead Piping Design Engineer

Job Summary:

Provide technical assurance of PIPING designs through appropriate application of international national and client technical standards and specifications.

Conduct feasibility/conceptual studies and in-house engineering for small and medium size piping brownfield projects.

Assist in troubleshooting the Piping design and resolving issues with engineering or fabricator.

Provide assistance to construction personnel with general technical queries and details.

Ensure schedule and cost considerations are included in design decisions while maintaining safety and quality.

Ensure alignment of PIPING Engineering activities with Project Delivery Roadmap and Opportunity Realization Process.

Deliver PIPING engineering scope for assigned projects ensuring compliance with HSSE practices and procedures.

Act as LEAD PIPING focal point in the review and preparation of engineering deliverables.

Develop strategies/conceptual designs during early project phases.

Participate in engineering reviews, Factory Acceptance Tests, safety and quality audits, and field reviews.

Ensure compliance of project designs with latest CLIENT and Industry standards.

Audit construction field activities for compliance and assist in resolution of nonconformance issues.

Ensure design meets requirements of CLIENTs HSSE Framework.

Design and develop technical approaches to broader process engineering issues and contribute to continuous business improvement initiatives.

Provide PIPING equipment engineering support and delivery for minor/base and medium projects.

Accountable for process engineering deliverables and engineering execution planning support.

Work with the Engineering Manager to keep projects on track and achieve Top Quartile performance for the portfolio.

Drive efficiency in producing project designs through Elimination, Simplification, Standardisation, and Automation.

Mastery knowledge of recognised international and IOGP standards including JIP33.

Responsible for team workflow to ensure all priorities of project are met.

Minimum Requirements:

1. BSc. University in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
2. Excellent interpersonal and analytical attributes able to communicate technical issues effectively.
3. Minimum 15 years experience in Oil and Gas related PIPING Engineering.
4. Minimum 5-10 years experience as an Umbrella Contract Lead PIPING equipment engineer function in a multidiscipline Workforce.
5. Experience with 3D Model review, Pipe Wall thickness, Flexibility analysis, etc.
6. Experience in the Middle East and in frontend and commissioning execution is an advantage.
7. Proven leadership skills, strong personal drive and experience in managing HSSE throughout all project phases.
8. Experience with project management.
9. Ability to work and manage in a multicultural environment.
10. Adherence to Health Safety Sustainability Environment and Quality rules of the company and the governing authorities of the host country.
