Lead Mechanical Engineer

Job Purpose: The Lead Mechanical Engineer will be overseeing and managing mechanical engineering tasks across various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, client specifications, and the company's quality benchmarks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Delivery & Leadership

• Deliver Mechanical (HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting) design scopes, ensuring quality, timeliness, and profitability.
• Demonstrate effective leadership and communication skills, both internally and externally.
• Exhibit strong business administration and development capabilities.
• Work with the MEP Section Manager to provide technical advice and define project requirements.
• Approve resource allocation, including work hours and delivery schedules for projects.

Design & Documentation

• Prepare detailed MEP drawings to obtain necessary permits and facilitate tender processes.
• Oversee and ensure the quality of design-phase outputs by coordinating with other trades and sections to meet project goals.

Quality Assurance

• Review and approve all technical drawings and documents issued by the MEP Section.
• Monitor and maintain the quality of deliverables to meet project and regulatory standards.

Resource Management

• Assist the MEP Section Manager in allocating engineers to projects and managing their workloads.
• Supervise and evaluate engineers and draftsmen, identifying training needs and recommending development initiatives.

Technical Support

• Provide expert technical advice to the team and stakeholders when required.

Site Supervision

• Monitor the performance of site engineers during project execution.
• Conduct periodic site visits and review compliance with regulations and approvals.

REQUIREMENTS

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical engineering discipline.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in the UAE.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in a consultancy company.
• Strong knowledge in design management and expertise in project management processes.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and teams.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems and project phases.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to ensure quality control and compliance with project standards.
