Lead - Enterprise Risk Management

Job Summary:

The Lead - Enterprise Risk Management will oversee and manage the identification, assessment, and mitigation of operational risks across the organization. This role will support the development and implementation of risk management frameworks and policies in line with regulatory and industry standards. The successful candidate will lead a team of risk professionals, collaborate with various business units, and play a critical role in driving the organization's risk culture.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Risk Assessment & Management:
   Lead the operational/enterprise risk management activities, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks across business units.
   Conduct detailed risk assessments, identifying risk exposure, and recommending risk mitigation strategies.
   Develop and maintain operational risk registers and track the resolution of identified risks.
2. Risk Framework Development:
   Develop and enhance the operational risk management framework, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
   Implement risk policies and procedures to manage risks effectively and efficiently.
3. Risk Reporting:
   Prepare and present risk reports and dashboards to senior management on a quarterly and annual basis, highlighting key risks, mitigation actions, and overall risk exposure.
   Provide recommendations to management to minimize or eliminate risk exposure.
4. Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:
   Ensure compliance with local and international regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel III, UAE regulations).
   Stay updated on changes in regulations and adjust policies and practices as needed.
5. Incident & Crisis Management:
   Lead the operational risk incident management process, ensuring proper identification, reporting, investigation, and resolution of incidents.
   Drive the continuous improvement of the incident management process, incorporating lessons learned into future risk mitigation strategies.
6. Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration:
   Work closely with various internal stakeholders to ensure that risk management processes are integrated within business operations.
   Engage with external stakeholders, such as auditors, regulatory bodies, and other third parties, to ensure compliance and best practices are followed.
7. Training & Development:
   Provide training and awareness programs to employees at all levels on operational risk and best practices in risk management.
   Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of risk awareness and proactive risk management.
8. Continuous Improvement:
   Continuously review and improve the operational risk management processes to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
   Lead the implementation of risk management tools and technologies to automate and streamline processes.

Skills & Qualifications:

1. Experience:
   8-14 years of experience in operational risk management, with at least 5-6 years in a managerial position. Experience in infrastructure or commodity firms is preferred.
2. Education:
   CA or equivalent.
   Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., FRM, CRM, or CFA) are a plus.
3. Technical Skills:
   Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks and methodologies.
   Proficiency in risk management software/tools and reporting systems.
   Excellent knowledge of regulatory requirements related to operational risk.
4. Core Competencies:
   Strong leadership and team management skills.
   Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
   Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic proficiency is an added advantage.
   Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
   High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and attention to detail.
