Lead Engineer (Process/Mechanical/Electrical/Instrument)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer (Process / Mechanical / Electrical / Instrument) responsible for overseeing and coordinating activities on site to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires extensive knowledge of systems, construction practices, and project management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and construction, with experience in large-scale industrial or oil and gas projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review schedules, ensuring alignment with overall project timelines
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless integration of instrumentation systems with overall project objectives
• Lead and manage construction activities, including installation, testing, and commissioning of systems
• Provide technical guidance and support for construction activities, including design interpretation and problem-solving
• Review and approve electrical construction drawings, specifications, and related documents
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and safety regulations
• Participate and provide instrument inputs for P&IDs, HAZOP, SIL studies, 3D Model reviews and various other Project Workshops
• Conduct inspections and audits of installations to identify and address any issues or deficiencies
• Implement corrective actions as necessary to maintain quality and safety standards
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports, including updates on electrical construction activities, milestones, and potential risks
• Identify and report any deviations from the project plan and recommend corrective actions
• Oversee and coordinate the activities of electrical subcontractors and suppliers
• Evaluate and approve vendor proposals and manage procurement of materials and equipment
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and construction staff
• Foster a collaborative and productive work environment

Key Qualifications

• Must have a degree in the related engineering disciplines from a recognized institution
• Must have 15 years minimum engineering experience in an engineering office including projects for the oil and gas industry
• At least 5 years as a Lead or Principal Engineer
• Must have a thorough and intimate technical knowledge of products, procedures, methods, tools and engineering systems
