Lead and supervise Mechanical Engineering Teams in Feasibility, Conceptual Studies, Pre-FEED, FEED, and EPC Projects.
Mentor and engage in the training and development of junior engineers in the team.
Prepare and review major equipment enquiry specifications, analyze vendor bids, prepare technical bid evaluations, review vendor documents, and coordinate with various other disciplines for data inputs.
Provide technical assistance, coordination, and liaison with other discipline engineers on all aspects of Engineering/technical matters and audits.
Participate in all Design reviews, HSE workshops, and Constructability reviews as necessary.
Actively participate in Bid clarification and Vendor kick-off meetings throughout the course of the projects.
Review and approve sub-contractor’s work and ensure compliance with the contract, project specifications, relevant codes and standards, and best practices.
Ensure that all work is completed with quality and is delivered according to the project schedule.
Coordinate with equipment vendors to troubleshoot issues related to design, manufacturing, maintenance, and installation.
Liaise with the client’s engineering team as required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion.
Prepare Engineering Reports on project activities/methods.
Ensure that the overall project is delivered to meet client needs.
Provide direction and guidance on all technical queries relating to equipment engineering.
Provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline.
Assist in the coordination of all activities related to major mechanical equipment.
Identify any areas of concern regarding progress and/or quality and recommend corrective actions as required.
Supervise Graduate Engineers and provide input to the performance management of direct reports.
Develop, review, and approve project and proposal estimates and schedules by referencing the project scope of work and discussing the estimates and schedules within the team and those of other disciplines.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering as a minimum.
Engineering Degree in a relevant discipline.
At least 15 years of mechanical engineering experience in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical industry.
PMC experience is an added advantage.
Knowledge in Hydrogen/Ammonia production.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
Experience working with multinational and multicultural project teams is strongly preferred.
Broad experience with rotating equipment, including Compressor packages selection and package management, is an added advantage.
Previous experience working in the Middle East would be an advantage.
Thorough knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.
