Lead Civil Designer - E3D

Wood is currently looking for a Lead Civil Designer - E3D to join our team in Sharjah, UAE.

Responsibilities:

1. Reporting to the Lead Civil/Structural Engineer, the candidate will carry out assigned civil and structural design work as part of a multi-discipline project team.
2. To promote safe behaviour at all times.
3. May be required to perform site surveys and data gathering exercises at various project locations.
4. To provide discipline-specific design and drafting services that meet the Project's, and applicable statutory and regulatory, requirements.
5. To provide technical support to the site team during design, engineering, and construction.
6. Preparation and checking of all types of civil and structural design deliverables such as General Arrangement Drawings, civil earthworks drawings, structural drawings, E3D Models, structural steel details, Material Take-Offs, etc.
7. Interdisciplinary check of all Civil/Structural/Piping/Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation drawings.
8. Review of vendor drawings for Equipment / Package items.
9. Produce drawings in AutoCAD.
10. To assist in the coordination of all activities related to the discipline.

1. Minimum of 15 years relevant experience in the Oil and Gas industry
2. Knowledge of site-based project work involving field engineering and construction.
3. Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred.
4. Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.
5. Diploma or HNC in Civil engineering (or relevant subject).
6. Strong commitment to safety.
7. Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Excel, and Word.
8. Experience of 3D modelling using E3D.
9. Must be able to work to an agreed scope, budget, and schedule.
10. An active listener with the ability to focus on customer requirements.
11. Experience in Conceptual, FEED, and Detailed Design is required.
12. Experience in the preparation and co-ordination of Civil and Structural design deliverables.
13. Compliance with industry, international, and client Codes and Standards.
14. Maintain suitable records of correspondence and work completed for reference and auditing purposes.
