Job Description


How does your working day look like …


  • Ensuring uniform, garments and all apparels are clean and well maintained.
  • Managing and tracking linen depletion through daily count of discarded and missing linen by keeping a tally of outgoing and incoming laundry and linens. Items RECEIVED should tally the quantity of items SENT.
  • Separating laundry expense per department for uniforms and linens
  • Spot checking the laundered items to ensure they meet the maximum standards acceptable in the guest eye.
  • Update the Housekeeping Manager of any red flags pertaining to discarded laundry and misuse of any linens or uniforms
  • Verify that laundry requests are completed for each department as needed
  • Track the laundry timeliness for processing of laundry to make sure everything is delivered in timely manner
  • Train employees on all laundry procedures, Including safety procedures and equipment operation.
  • Operate and monitor washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery.
  • Report faulty equipment, maintenance needs, and safety hazards to manager/supervisor.
  • Supervise uniform room operations – ensure presence of uniform attendant to issue uniforms to the staff
  • Manage pantry distribution for room linens to match with the room inventory per floor and F&B linen returns whilst ensuring compliance with hotel policies, standards and satisfaction of internal and external guests.
  • Organize, train staff on daily job operations and follow up to ensure that training is effective.
  • Forecast room linen requirements based on occupancy and coordinate with outlet managers the daily linen requirements for outlets to meet operational needs. It also involves the planning of large functions and or events.
  • Conduct monthly inventory of all linen and a monthly F&B and room linen inventory
  • Maintain par stock level in order to respond to operational needs.
  • Assist the Housekeeping Manager with the preparation of laundry budget for the linen and uniforms.
  • Conduct ongoing training sessions to ensure the team is aware of best practices and hotel standards.
  • Coordinate with floor supervisor / Laundry Manager re-periodical washing /dry cleaning of bedroom linens such as duvet, bed pad, bed cover, and curtains including repair and replacement.
  • Check quality of laundry processing of uniforms and linens sent for washing and inform assistant Laundry Manager any deviations from standard. Coordinate with laundry – Test washing of materials for linen and uniform.
  • Control and monitor linen discarding by weekly tracking. When appropriate, recycle to avoid wastage or arrange repair job or recommend new purchase.
  • Ensure that all cleaning processes and chemicals are handled safely and in compliance with the hotel's health and safety guidelines.
  • Place orders for new joiners and track their uniform issuing
  • Record keeping of discarded linen and recommend their replacement.

Qualifications


Your personality counts more than your CV …

  • Excellent Communicative English skills in speaking, reading and writing.
  • Degree in hospitality management.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in housekeeping in a luxury or five-star hotel, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory.
  • Computer Skills for Outlook Emails, Excel, Word and Power Point presentation.
  • Proficiency in using housekeeping management software. OPERA knowledge preferred
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality control.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
