Lap pathologist
Job description
- Perform diagnostic tests (blood, urine, tissue) in hematology, microbiology, chemistry, immunology, and histopathology.
- Ensure accurate and timely test results; maintain lab equipment and ensure quality control.
- Review patient histories, recommend further tests, and interpret results for clinicians.
- Supervise lab assistants and maintain accurate lab records and supplies.
- Contribute to research and stay updated with advancements in pathology.
- Ensure safety, compliance with health regulations, and maintain lab documentation.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to support patient care.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Education: MBBS/MD in Pathology or equivalent; additional certifications in relevant subfields preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years in a diagnostic laboratory or healthcare setting, with expertise in hematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, etc.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of laboratory testing, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently or in a team. Strong commitment to patient care, confidentiality, and ethics.
- Language: Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus).
- Preferred: Experience in the Gulf region and familiarity with local regulations.
