Responsibilities
- Design and Planning:
- Develop and implement landscape plans that enhance the hotel's aesthetics and functionality.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate landscape designs into overall property plans.
- Ensure designs are sustainable and environmentally friendly.
- Maintenance and Management:
- Oversee the maintenance of gardens, lawns, trees, and other outdoor areas.
- Ensure all landscaping is kept to the highest standards of cleanliness, orderliness, and beauty.
- Manage irrigation systems and ensure efficient water use.
- Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of landscape technicians and gardeners.
- Schedule and oversee regular maintenance and landscaping activities.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development.
- Budget Management:
- Prepare and manage the landscaping budget.
- Source and negotiate with suppliers for plants, materials, and equipment.
- Ensure all landscaping activities are cost-effective and within budget.
- Health and Safety:
- Ensure all landscaping activities comply with health and safety regulations.
- Implement safety training and protocols for the landscape team.
- Regularly inspect outdoor areas for potential hazards and address them promptly.
- Customer Service:
- Respond to guest feedback and address landscaping-related concerns.
- Work closely with the guest services team to ensure the landscape contributes positively to the guest experience.
- Innovation and Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in landscaping and horticulture.
- Implement new techniques and practices to enhance the property’s landscape.
- Continuously seek ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the landscape maintenance operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in landscape management, preferably in a hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of plants, horticultural practices, and irrigation systems.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and teams effectively.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in landscape design software and Microsoft Office Suite.
