Job Description: Landscape Engineer (Site Operations)
As a Landscape Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and maintenance of outdoor landscapes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects meet our high standards of sustainability, aesthetics, and functionality. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from residential landscapes to large-scale public spaces, and to make a positive impact on the environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Landscape Design:
- Collaborate with landscape architects and other team members to create detailed landscape designs that align with project goals.
- Use CAD software, 3D modeling, and other design tools to produce accurate and aesthetically pleasing landscape plans.
- Ensure that designs adhere to local regulations, codes, and industry standards.
Environmental Sustainability:
- Incorporate sustainable practices and materials into landscape designs to promote environmental stewardship.
- Advise on water conservation, irrigation systems, native plant selection, and other eco-friendly solutions.
Project Management:
- Oversee the implementation of landscape projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Monitor progress and address any issues or changes in project scope.
Site Analysis:
- Conduct site assessments to understand soil conditions, drainage, and environmental factors that may impact landscape design.
- Propose solutions to mitigate site challenges and maximize the potential of outdoor spaces.
Budgeting and Cost Estimation:
- Prepare and manage project budgets, providing accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising project quality.
Permitting and Regulatory Compliance:
- Assist in obtaining necessary permits and approvals from local authorities.
- Ensure projects comply with zoning regulations, building codes, and environmental laws.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
- Must have 10+ years of experience in site operations.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
- Proven experience in landscape design and project management.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other landscape design tools.
- Strong knowledge of environmental sustainability and best practices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of local and regional landscape regulations and permitting processes.
