Job description

Responsibilities

  • Produce or oversee the production of drawings and other technical documentation using appropriate software, with the necessary level of detail as required at various stages of development: strategies, conceptual design, detailed design and production information at pre-contract stage
  • Compile tender submissions and secure new work.
  • Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for the architectural, scientific and technical work performed in the department, service, laboratory or firm
  • Develop and manage the work of others.
  • Clear communication, including the ability to write concise technical reports and to contribute to conference calls, meetings and workshops.
  • Establish strong working relationships with other members of the landscape team and internal teams across the business.
  • Have the technical ability, knowledge and competence to provide guidance to teach and develop junior staff, including as a P2C mentor
  • May participate directly in the design, development, and inspection of technical projects or in the theoretical or applied scientific work of the department
  • Working as a Project Manager, project management responsibilities, including contractual, financial and programme management
  • Ability to work collaboratively and iteratively within a multi-disciplinary design team.
  • Assign, coordinate and review the technical work of the department or project teams
  • Recruit personnel and oversee development and maintenance of staff competence in required areas
  • May consult and negotiate with clients to prepare specifications, explain proposals or present architectural or scientific research reports and findings.
  • Oversee mock ups, materials selection at post contract stage

Requirements

  • Landscape Institute accredited Bachelor's degree, Diploma and/or Master's degree.
  • 15+ year of experience
  • Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI)
  • Experience of detailed landscape design and preparation of tender documentation
  • Experience of contract administration and managing projects will be useful, including financial control and reporting and programme management
  • Knowledge and understanding of the UAE legal and planning system with respect to landscape architecture
  • Some understanding of landscape planning
  • Fluency in English and ability to communicate effectively
  • Experienced in AutoCAD
  • Experience of some or all of the following would also advantageous: AEC Community, Adobe Creative Cloud, ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civils 3D, Revit, LSS or ProjectWise
