Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Landscape BIM/CAD Specialist to join our team! In this role you will get to perform basic to moderately-difficult design/drafting assignments requiring a working knowledge of design/drafting standards, practices, and techniques.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Provide front line project specific support to design teams.
- Create landscape BIM models and drawings within Revit/Civil 3D to fulfill client requirements from LOD 100-LOD 350.
- Experience in Clash Detection process using Navisworks/Revizto.
- Utilize a workstation to prepare Landscape drawings consisting of general arrangements, grading plans, layouts, details, etc., from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures.
- Develop and maintain CAD and BIM libraries, continually advancing the platforms’ efficiency and utilization.
- Utilize technical manuals and directives to ensure compliance with codes and company policies.
- Become familiar with various standards and codes such as ISO 19650, BS 1192, etc.
- Compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of Landscape drawings.
- Understand how to read orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) designs and supplier/manufacturer drawings.
- Provide ongoing training to existing users for CAD, Revit, and Civil 3D.
- Assist with creation of CAD/BIM standards and the implementation of the same throughout the firm.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering / Architecture / Landscape / Urban Planning/Urban Design from an accredited institution.
- Minimum six (6) years demonstrable experience of BIM/CAD design production experience in a multi-disciplinary environment, preferably landscape projects.
- In-depth working knowledge of current Autodesk products such as but not limited to AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit with proficiency in BIM/CAD processes.
- Experience with BIM/CAD instruction and training.
- Must be fluent in English both written and spoken with good capability in oral and written communication skills.
- Computer skills and the ability to utilize design software are mandatory.
