Organise and maintain Construction Division labour into Trades Gangs with appropriate Chargehand and manage ‘live’ labour/gang development records.
Liaise closely with HR Department to monitor leave and labour attrition/resignations.
Deploy and allocate labour Gangs to Projects in accordance with the Project labour histogram/resource plan in close coordination with the Project Manager/Contracts Manager.
Plan, review and improve productivity outputs on each Project with the Project Manager and implement a specific Project Labour Management Plan.
Responsibility to supervise Trades Managers (Carpentry/Steelfixing/Masonry) to review allocation, productivity and efficiency on Projects.
Liaise with Production Engineers on Projects to ensure data collection and productivity targets are in place and consistently updated.
Liaise with Training Centre manager to coordinate the trade training requirements of the Division labour force and ensure deployment of labour to/from the Training School as appropriate.
Liaise with Workmen Relations & Security Manager/Camp Bosses as appropriate to ensure efficient geographical allocation and transportation of labour to/from camp locations and Projects.
Periodically review labour resource levels with Divisional Manager/Operations/Contracts Managers and as appropriate arrange recruitment trips utilizing Trade Managers in conjunction with HR Department.
Minimum Requirements:
Significant career experience (minimum 10+ years) of direct labour/trades management.
Vocational Qualification in trades discipline (e.g. NVQ).
Minimum 5 years GCC experience working for a recognized International Main Contractor.
Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering or related Construction discipline (desirable).
Completion of IOSH managing Safely (or similar safety qualification/experience).
Clear leadership/senior management experience.
Clear communicator able to interact at all levels from operative to senior management.
Organised and disciplined approach to resource planning/management.
