Laboratory Supervisor - Microbiology

We are looking for a Lead/Supervisor at Microbiology to support the Laboratory Manager in managing staff members in validating and authorizing the test results obtained from sample analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Advanced knowledge in microbiology techniques, antimicrobial resistance, molecular testing, infectious diseases, and safety protocols.
• Expertise in quality assurance, ISO/UKAS standards, and LEAN methodologies.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and statistical analysis skills.
• Experience in supervising, training, and assessing laboratory staff, ensuring competency and adherence to safety guidelines.
• Proficient in developing, validating, and reviewing laboratory methods and SOPs.
• Ability to manage laboratory operations, maintain equipment, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet goals.
• Skilled in writing scientific reports, publishing research, and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Ability to lead projects, maintain quality standards, manage budgets, and ensure continuous improvement in laboratory services.

Qualifications:

Education:

• PhD or MSc degree in Microbiology/Applied Microbiology/Biotechnology with experience in wastewater monitoring and surveillance or other relevant science discipline.

Experience:

• Minimum of 8 years industrial/academic experience working in microbiology lab environment, ideally in water or wastewater analysis laboratory.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microbiology automated and manual techniques.
