Junior Project Controller

The position

In this role, you are part of the Projects team within the Business Unit DRI & Infra of van Oord and report directly to the Wicks business controller. The product group DRI is on a path of ambitious growth to enable the energy infrastructure of today and tomorrow and is geographically expanding rapidly. Van Oord specializes in projects requiring innovative and sustainable solutions based on our Marine ingenuity.

Your responsibilities

1. Your main responsibility is supporting with project control tasks and assisting with the (financial) administration on various projects.
2. Assisting the Project Controller in order to produce accurate financial figures regarding the project.
3. Assisting with financial and management reports.
4. Assisting with monitoring the project progress.
5. Assisting with liquidity management and cash flow forecasts.
6. Assisting with audits on the projects.
7. Performing solicited and unsolicited ad hoc analyses and reviews to the Project Controller.

Your Workplace

As Junior Project Controller you are part of the finance team in UAE located in the Dubai office. You will be assisting in setting up, implementing and managing the Finance and Control aspects of projects. Together with the rest of the project team you will ensure that there is reliable cash management and sound project administration. Other responsibilities include assisting with timely and accurate financial reporting and assisting with various audits. You are one of the financial points of contact on projects for project managers and the rest of the project team. Desired Candidate Profile

Job requirements:

1. A self-starter, proactive and able to identify opportunities to create value and excited.
2. Strong communication, analytical skills and an effective team player.
3. A bachelor/master degree in finance and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in an international business environment.
4. Affinity with the Maritime and/or Civil sector is preferable.
5. Good command of the English language, both verbally and in writing.
6. Flexible, results-oriented, independent.
7. An excellent command of the English language, spoken and written.
8. A pragmatic, "can do and will do" approach and an urge to improve.
9. Affinity with the Maritime and/or Civil construction industry.
