Junior Mechanical Production Planning Engineer

• Assist in developing and maintaining production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products while minimizing delays.
• Develop and optimize mechanical fabrication processes (welding, machining, forming, casting, Sheet metal fabrication, etc.).
• Analyze production data and implement process improvements to reduce cost, improve quality, and increase production efficiency.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and techniques to eliminate waste and improve overall productivity.
• Work closely with production teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, addressing issues related to production delays, equipment failure, and quality control.
• Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve problems related to the fabrication process.
• Develop and maintain detailed work instructions, process flows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for fabrication processes.
• Coordinate with production, engineering, and materials teams to ensure that required raw materials, tools, and resources are available for production.
• Monitor and track production progress, identifying potential delays or issues and working with relevant departments to resolve them.
• Support the creation and maintenance of production plans, ensuring they meet quality standards, cost targets, and production timelines.
• Assist in managing inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations, and coordinate with procurement for timely material replenishment.
• Assist in preparing reports on production performance, including schedules, material usage, and resource allocation.
• Help maintain production documentation, including work orders, material requisitions, and process instructions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to review new product designs, ensuring manufacturability and alignment with production capabilities.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Internship or hands-on experience in production planning or manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with production scheduling software and tools.
• Knowledge of industry standards, such as ISO or Six Sigma, is a plus.
• Understanding of material requirements planning (MRP) systems.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with production data.
