Operations Manager

As a Project Engineer (Roads Rivers &Dikes) you will join our engineering team to provide technicalsupport for smallscale and less complex tenders projects anddesigns as well as parts of medium to complex ones. Your roleensures that projects meet agreed requirements such as safetyquality time budget legal regulations andmore.

You will have the opportunity for personaland professional growth by working on unique and complex projectsin the Netherlands including the design construction andmaintenance of dikes and water barriers. Example projects includethe Markermeerdijken Meanderende Maas Dike Reinforcement ZwolleOlstand the creation of new islands near Amsterdam and Markerwadden.Our work always considers environmentalcare.

Your Responsibilities as aProject Engineer (Roads Rivers & Dikes)are :

• DraftingSpecifications and Procedures : Independently draftingspecifications and procedures for the realization of tendersprojects and designs within the set framework and customer andcontract requirements to achieve an optimal projectresult.
• Designing and Developing TechnicalSolutions : Independently designing and developing (new) technicalsolutions that meet all requirements. Offering alternativesolutions to the customer and minimizingrisks.
• Feasibility and Safety Assurance : Convincing external customers / inspectors of the feasibility andsafety of the proposed solution / method and the resultingspecifications.
• Scope Determination andSupervision : Responsible for determining the scope of engineeringwork for mainly small projects and / or less complex technicaltenders or parts of complex projects including personnel planningand budgeting. Supervising and assessing the work of colleaguessubcontractors and customers to ensure that tenders projects anddesigns are carried out in accordance with therequirements.
• Progress Reporting and DeviationIdentification : Responsible for progress reporting regarding smallprojects and / or less complex technical tenders (or parts of complexprojects) to internal and external customers. Timely identificationof deviations in time demand for engineering capacity quality orcosts compared to planning requirements andbudget.
• Execution Support and Improvement : Assisting and advising in the execution of tenders and projectssometimes on location. Providing logistical support. Participatingin the continuous improvement of departmental processes andprocedures and evaluating the engineering process. Responsible foridentifying acquired knowledge and experience and ensuring theimplementation and execution of followup actions. Managing smallengineering teams coaching team members in their work andcontributing to the development and assessments of project teammembers.

Yourqualities :

You can make your markas Project Engineer (Roads Rivers & Dikes) if youhave :

• 36 years ofrelevant work experience including experience with relevant workingmethods techniques and professional software andmodels.
• Relevant experience with projectmanagement and good command of English (written and spoken).Proficiency in Dutch is an asset.
• Advancedknowledge of ICT office and planning applications with basicknowledge of drawingapplications.
