Junior Engineer – Technical Data Pack (TDP) and Support

The Junior Engineer will support the creation, maintenance, and improvement of the Quality Technical Data Pack (TDP), an essential element in the production of our armored vehicles. This position also involves technical support for the design and development process and assisting the Sales Team with technical illustrations, drawings, and documentation to meet customer requirements. Key responsibilities are as follows:

• Technical Data Pack (TDP) Quality Support
• Assist in preparing and maintaining Quality TDPs for serialized products, ensuring adherence to design standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Quality and Production teams to align TDP elements with production needs and quality standards.
• Design Process Support
• Provide technical assistance in the design and engineering processes, including, but not limited to, the allocation of fasteners, specifying the welded connections and other components as required by project specifications.
• Work with design engineers to identify potential improvements in design and assembly efficiency.
• Sales and Customer Support
• Collaborate with the Sales Team by creating technical drawings and documentation to support customer tenders, manuals, and other project-specific requirements.
• Ensure that all drawings provided to the Sales Team are accurate and reflective of customer specifications.
• Cross-functional Collaboration
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Quality, Production, and Sales to understand project requirements and support successful project execution.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: 1-2 years of experience in an engineering role, preferably within a manufacturing or defense industry.

Skills:

• Foundational CAD Skills: Possess a solid foundational understanding of CAD software, with practical experience in basic design functions and drafting principles.
• Technical Knowledge of Fasteners and Materials: Familiar with common fastener types and mechanical properties of materials, particularly steels, for optimal material selection and assembly integrity.
• Assembly Documentation and BOM Preparation: Skills in developing detailed assembly instructions and creating Bills of Materials (BOM) for complex assemblies using SolidWorks (.SLDASM) files.
• Technical Drawing and Drafting Skills: Capable of producing comprehensive technical drawings, including 3-view projections, isometric views, and sectional drawings, based on complete 3D vehicle models for clear and accurate design communication.
