Junior Engineer - Piping

Key Responsibilities

Policies, Processes & Procedures:
Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner. Follow and comply with information security rules and data security measures in order to protect the company information/intellectual properties.

Day-to-Day Operations:
Liaise with other discipline Lead Engineer to ensure value engineering and optimum utilization of available resources, with the overall objective of successful completion of the project. Review customer documents, specifications, and drawings to ensure construction activities are in line with approved procedures, method statements, and approved drawings. Inputs to draughtsman/modeller for preparation of P&ID, typical installation practice, layouts, material selections, material take-offs, etc. Participate in 3D model reviews and interface checks. Review and propose improvements in existing pipe fabrication, fittings, and installation works. Oversee pressure testing and leak test activities in accordance with specifications, codes, and standards. Responsible for the review of piping & plumbing related procedures and documents including test packs. Carry out site inspection and surveys and prepare estimates. Review and prepare RFQ, MR, technical evaluation of vendor proposals, vendor selection, etc. Provide personnel appraisal and training requirements, motivating and developing subordinates. Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work. Support estimation functions in manpower and material estimates for plumbing and sanitary installation jobs.

Direction of Subordinates (applicable for supervisory jobs):
Organise and supervise the activities and work of a small team of subordinates to ensure that all work within piping and plumbing activity is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner.

Continuous Improvement:
Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices taking into account 'international best practice', improvement of business processes, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.

Reporting:
Prepare departmental reports on time and accurately to meet company and department requirements, policies, and standards.

Comply with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

Perform other related duties or assignments as directed in order to contribute to the continuous operations of the department.
