Junior AV Technical Specialist

Job Summary:

As a Junior AV Technical Specialist, you will support the delivery of high-quality events at the client's pavilion, a versatile venue hosting a variety of events such as conferences, meetings, and presentations. In this hands-on role, you’ll assist in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting AV and lighting systems, ensuring smooth event execution. You will work closely with the Senior AV Technical Lead and the wider events team, contributing to the technical aspects of event management and learning from experienced team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Operations Support

• Assist with the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of AV, lighting, and show control systems during events.
• Support the operation of content playback platforms such as D3 and QLab, ensuring proper functioning of media during events.
• Help with managing speaker slides and coordinating event show controls, ensuring smooth transitions during presentations and live events.
• Provide technical assistance and quick troubleshooting support during events to resolve minor issues and ensure event continuity.

Event Support and Technical Assistance

• Assist in the setup and teardown of AV equipment in collaboration with senior team members, ensuring proper installation and functionality.
• Support senior staff in executing real-time technical changes and adjustments as needed during events.
• Collaborate with event managers and technical teams to ensure timely and effective event preparation.

Learning and Development

• Shadow and assist the Senior AV Technical Lead to learn technical operations, troubleshooting, and equipment management.
• Develop a growing understanding of AV, lighting, and show control systems, striving to become proficient with tools such as D3 and QLab.
• Participate in internal training sessions and team meetings to improve technical skills and knowledge of event technologies.

Collaboration and Team Support

• Work as part of a team to ensure efficient and smooth delivery of events, providing technical assistance as required.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, assisting with team tasks and learning from more experienced colleagues.

Safety and Compliance

• Ensure that all AV equipment is handled, stored, and used in compliance with safety protocols and procedures.
• Follow health, safety, and security guidelines to maintain a safe environment for staff, clients, and guests during events.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor degree
• Experience in live event production or AV support (preferably 1+ year in a technical role).
• Skills: Basic understanding of AV equipment and lighting systems; ability to learn quickly and apply technical knowledge.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with event technologies such as sound, video, lighting, and show control systems.
• Attitude: Eager to learn and develop technical skills in a dynamic, client-focused environment.
