Junior Accountant

Job Purpose:

The Junior Accountant will collaborate closely with the Finance Business Partner to support technology companies by managing accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Project Accounting. This role will also assist with various financial tasks, ensuring the efficient and accurate operation of the finance function.

Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR):

• Process vendor invoices, verify approvals, initiate payments and ensure timely payments are made to vendors.
• Reconcile supplier accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
• Generate customer invoices, track payments, and follow up on outstanding receivables.
• Maintain accurate records of AP & AR transactions and prepare aging reports.

General Accounting & Month-End Closing:

• Assist in journal entries, bank reconciliations, and ledger maintenance.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare reconciliations for accounts such as accruals, prepayments, and intercompany transactions.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal financial policies.

Compliance & Audit Support:

• Assist in the internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, VAT filing, and corporate financial policies.
• Maintain organized financial records and documentation.

Project Accounting, Audit and Other Activities:

• Assist in tracking project-related expenses, revenues, and profitability.
• Support financial reporting on project performance and variance analysis.
• Maintain proper cost allocation across different projects and departments.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
• Support in Automation projects wherever required about the payments process.
• Assist in facilitating performance / bid bonds in line with ADCG treasury.
• Execute ad hoc tasks as may be requested by the Head of the department.

Core Competencies:

• Degree educated in Finance and Accounting, ideally CA/CPA/ACCA or working towards it.
• Good understanding of UAE laws and regulations about finance,banking, taxation and exports.
• Must have strong communication skills in English and shall possess strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software (preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365, or any similar ERPs)
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with data analysis tools.
• Strong reporting skills, including the ability to present data in presentation format (MS PPT).
• Open-minded / questioning / challenging mindset with the ability to address root- cause issues.

Experience:

• 3-4 years of accounting/finance work experience
