Job Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Jr Sous Chef specializing in Cold Kitchen to join our culinary team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a Jr Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen operations, focusing on the preparation and presentation of cold dishes, appetizers, and salads.

  1. Assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in managing the cold kitchen section
  2. Prepare and present high-quality cold dishes, including salads, appetizers, and desserts
  3. Develop and implement new menu items in collaboration with the culinary team
  4. Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  5. Manage inventory and minimize food waste in the cold kitchen
  6. Train and supervise junior kitchen staff in cold food preparation techniques
  7. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area
  8. Assist in cost control and budget management for the cold kitchen section
  9. Collaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth overall operations
  10. Participate in menu planning and seasonal menu changes
Qualifications
  1. Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized institution
  2. 2-3 years of experience in a professional kitchen, with a focus on cold kitchen operations
  3. Strong knife skills and proficiency in various food preparation techniques
  4. In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  5. Current food safety certification
  6. Experience in menu planning and recipe development
  7. Proficiency in inventory management and food cost control
  8. Excellent organizational and time management skills
  9. Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities
  10. Creativity and passion for culinary arts, particularly in cold dish preparation
  11. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  12. Knowledge of various cuisines, with a focus on cold dishes and international flavors
  13. Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools specific to cold food preparation
  14. Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
