Jr. Energy Analysis Engineer

Job Purpose

To support the energy management team in analyzing energy consumption data, identifying efficiency improvements, and assisting with the implementation of energy-saving measures within assigned projects or facilities.

Key Accountabilities

1. Assist senior engineers in analyzing energy consumption data from various sources (e.g., building management systems, utility bills).
2. Learn and apply energy efficiency principles and best practices to identify potential savings opportunities.
3. Prepare basic reports summarizing energy consumption trends and potential savings.
4. Participate in site visits to gather data and observe energy-related operations.
5. Develop proficiency in using energy analysis software and tools under supervision.
6. Develop a foundational understanding of HVAC systems, building automation systems, and other energy-consuming equipment.
7. Learn to interpret energy-related drawings and specifications.
8. Gain proficiency in using relevant software and tools (Office, Power BI, Python, energy management software).
9. Participate in training sessions on energy efficiency and sustainability.
10. Contribute to the development of project plans, client deliveries, and timelines under the guidance of senior engineers.
11. Assist in the preparation of presentations and reports summarizing project findings and recommendations.
12. Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on energy efficiency strategies.
13. Assist in the scheduling and prioritization of tasks within assigned projects.
14. Maintain accurate records of work completed and time spent on various tasks.
15. Provide support to senior engineers on assigned projects, including data collection, data wrangling, and data analysis.
16. Assist in the preparation of project documentation, such as presentations and reports.
17. Participate in internal knowledge-sharing sessions and training programs.
18. Identify and suggest improvements to existing energy analysis processes and methodologies.
19. Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for potential clients (under supervision).
20. Maintain effective communication with team members and other stakeholders.
21. Develop strong working relationships with colleagues and mentors.
22. Learn and adhere to company policies and procedures related to energy management.
23. Assist in the maintenance of accurate records and documentation.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills

1. Degree in energy-related engineering or equivalent qualifications; higher education in management will be an advantage.
2. 1 - 2 years of relevant experience.
3. CMVP Certification would be an advantage.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
5. Self-motivated, proactive, and client-focused.
6. Good planning and organizing skills, communication skills, interpersonal skills, and technical expertise.
