Joinery Coordinator

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Joinery Coordinator to oversee the operations of our joinery workshop and factory and provide detailed drawings for joinery projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of joinery projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role involves overseeing the production of joinery work, coordinating between different departments and suppliers, and providing support to the project management team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Coordination: Oversee and coordinate all joinery work for projects from start to finish, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets, and specifications.
2. Design and Technical Support: Assist in interpreting joinery design drawings and ensure technical specifications are accurately followed in the production and installation process.
3. Material Procurement: Ensure the timely procurement of materials and supplies for joinery work, sourcing from appropriate suppliers and managing inventory.
4. Supplier and Subcontractor Management: Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure that materials and services are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
5. Production Monitoring: Oversee the manufacturing process in the workshop, ensuring all joinery items are fabricated correctly and efficiently.
6. Scheduling: Create and maintain production schedules, ensuring that all tasks are completed within the allocated timeframes.
7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of work, materials, and progress. Prepare regular progress reports for senior management and clients.
8. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all joinery work adheres to health and safety regulations, implementing best practices and conducting risk assessments when necessary.
9. Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between clients and the joinery team, addressing any queries, concerns, or changes in project scope.
10. Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to joinery, such as material shortages, design discrepancies, or production delays.

Qualifications:

1. Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in joinery or related fields, with at least 5 years in a coordination or supervisory role.
2. Education: A qualification in carpentry, joinery, or construction management (or equivalent experience) is desirable.
3. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of joinery techniques, materials, and tools. Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, or other design and project management software is a plus.
4. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
5. Attention to Detail: A high level of accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring quality and precision in all work.
6. Health & Safety Awareness: Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and practices in a joinery or construction environment.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience working with large-scale construction projects.
• Familiarity with estimating and budgeting joinery projects.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore).

Working Conditions:

• Full-time, office-based with site visits as required.
• Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines.
