Job description

Job Responsibilities:

  1. You are responsible to assist the departments in the operation of all computer hardware and/or software installation and maintenance.
  2. Serve as secondary contact for all servicing of computer PC hardware and/or software.
  3. Responsible for managing technology/asset lifecycle. Ensures that necessary equipment (PCs, servers, telecom-related, etc.) is ordered and available.
  4. Accountable for disaster recovery and business continuity as it relates to technology.
  5. Foresees, identifies, and resolves system(s) performance problems.
  6. Ensures technology assets are secure and well-maintained in accordance with Sofitel policies and standards.
  7. Installs, monitors, and maintains telecommunications equipment including cabling and providing technical guidance as needed.
  8. Performs adds/moves/changes/deletions.
  9. Supports end-user company-provided mobile phone issues.
  10. Troubleshoots high-speed Internet access problems.
  11. Escalates problems as appropriate through IT Manager.
  12. Images desktops, installs new software applications, applies patches, maps drive to correct server/network.
  13. Supports the Hotel in resolving Hardware issues through escalation of issues with Hardware partners. Considered as Hardware: Computers, Servers, Routers, Switches, Cables, PABX, Monitors and Screens, Point of Sale devices, all relevant interfaces, UPS and related devices, and other active components.
  14. Ensures that all Accor IT Policies and Guidelines are being applied in the hotel. Ensures that only original and properly licensed application programs according to the IT management's policy and requirement are running on the hotel's systems and computers. Has a good relationship with the Software suppliers. Supports the hotel in resolving Software issues by escalation of issues to Software suppliers.
  15. Moves/adds/changes PCs/peripherals; migrating data when necessary.
  16. Maintain a full inventory of all Hardware and software related supplies.
  17. Maintain a log of all computer hardware and a log of all service calls on computer hardware.
  18. Manage the configuration records, programme files, and data files on the computer system.
  19. Monitor the performance of the computer software and maintain a log of performance reports, error and integrity check reports, system malfunctions, and solutions.
  20. Install and test corporate approved applications and changes to the hotel computer systems.
  21. Implement Preventive Maintenance for all IT hardware & Software on a timely basis.
  22. Will be fully in charge of IT Dept. and all of its related issues in the absence of the IT Manager / Department Head.
  23. Check daily backups, all system interfaces, server hardware, and logs.
  24. The management of the IT Agent/IT Specialist involves assigning daily tasks, providing training on all necessary theoretical and practical procedures, and offering troubleshooting and support in line with corporate standards.
  25. Follow up all claims that are being forwarded to IT Dept.
  26. Document and archive all correspondence and troubleshooting follow-up, suppliers visits, and maintenance.
  27. Must have very good knowledge in LAN Security, Wireless, IP Telephony, Paytrax, Micros, Fidelio, Opera, Sun System, and various hospitality solutions and software.
  28. Must be an example of the Sofitel Values, Brand Standards, and a champion of appearance & hygiene guidelines.
  29. Implements guidelines, policies, and procedures for those operating departments according to Sofitel Guidelines & Standards.
  30. To ensure that he/she provides a friendly, courteous, and professional service at all times.
  31. Ensures that any given timeline is strictly followed.
  32. Ensures that the daily IT procedures are completed on a timely basis.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor Degree in any related field
  2. Previous hotel IT experience preferred
  3. Strong guest orientation and conflict resolution skills.
  4. Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  5. Good command of spoken and written English
  6. Positive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills and strong leadership
