IT Security Specialist - Middle East and North Africa Region

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implementation: Review and implement robust IT infrastructure solutions that support business operations, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud services.
  • Maintenance and Optimization: Monitor and optimize IT infrastructure performance, ensuring high availability, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Provide advanced technical support for infrastructure-related issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring quick resolution of problems.

IT Security:

  • Security Strategy: Review IT security strategy to protect the organization's digital assets from internal and external threats.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular security risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement appropriate security controls.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant security standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST) and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

IT Governance:

  • Policy Development: Establish and enforce IT governance policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization.
  • Audit and Compliance: Coordinate IT audits and ensure the organization meets all IT governance and compliance requirements.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT processes, configurations, and changes to support governance and audit activities.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate IT governance policies and security awareness to stakeholders, including HO Technology, Regional office management, and Business Unit IT HODs.

Project Management:

  • Project Planning: Lead and manage IT projects, including infrastructure upgrades, security implementations, and governance initiatives.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure IT projects align with business objectives and are executed efficiently.
  • Innovation: Stay updated on the latest IT infrastructure, security, and governance trends and technologies, and recommend improvements to existing systems.
  • Training: Provide training and support to IT staff and end-users on infrastructure management, security protocols, and governance standards.
  • Performance Metrics: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to IT infrastructure, security, and governance.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

  • Qualification and Certificates:
    • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
    • Certifications in IT governance, service management, risk management, or project management (e.g., ITIL, COBIT, PMP) are highly desirable.
  • Experience and Knowledge:
    • 5-6 years of experience in IT governance, service delivery management, IT infrastructure, and network and risk management roles, preferably in the port and terminal industry or a related field.
    • Experience in managing IT compliance, data centers, and working with regulatory frameworks is beneficial.
    • Familiarity with port and terminal operations, industry-specific IT systems and applications, and regulatory requirements related to the industry is advantageous.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and architecture.
    • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
    • Expertise in IT governance frameworks and compliance standards.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strategic thinking with a focus on aligning IT operations with business goals.
    • Strong problem-solving skills to address IT-related challenges and make informed decisions.
    • Change Management: Experience in managing organizational change and driving adoption of new IT processes and technologies.
    • Able to work with a team.
