About GAC Marine LLC
GAC Marine operates from our fully equipped marine base in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Our comprehensive offshore marine support includes anchor handling, project cargo transportation, platform supply, crew changes and supplies, as well as rig moves and tug & barge operations. Operations are supported by our growing fleet of anchor handling tug supply vessels, anchor handling tugs, crew boats, tow tugs, barges, utility vessels, and landing craft.
Our expert crew, maintenance, and other land-based staff are at hand to facilitate short turnaround times for class surveys, repairs, and maintenance.
Position: IT Manager
GAC Marine is looking for the right person to join its team as an IT Manager to be based at the Abu Dhabi marine base. The IT Manager has ownership of GAC Marine's IT infrastructure and services, ensuring effective technological support for our maritime operations and office to enhance productivity and operational efficiency. As a leader in digital transformation, the successful candidate will be responsible for mobilizing strategic IT solutions across all spectrums to modernize the approach to fleet, operations, and corporate management.
Job Responsibilities
- Technology Business Management: Maintain, upgrade, and support IT systems. Ensure the security and integrity of the company's IT infrastructure. Maintain records of software and hardware inventory. Oversee management of hardware, software, and network resources. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for IT services and products. Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and standards. Provide technical support and training to staff as needed. Align with Group IT on standards and implementation initiatives.
- Digital Transformation: Lead in partnership the digital transformation initiatives of each function and across GAC Marine, including implementation of but not limited to P2P, PMS, Crewing, HRMS, and any other advanced technologies. Evaluate and integrate new technologies and software solutions to business performance capabilities.
- Regulatory Compliance: Administer network and data security, active directory, group policy, firewalls, virus protection, and email security. Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and standards. Ensure the security and integrity of the company's IT infrastructure.
- Technical Fleet & Business Support: Support the Fleet Technical Engineer in implementing Operations Maintenance and Navigation solutions as required. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for IT services and products. Analyze and monitor system performance, making recommendations for improvements. Participate in regularly scheduled business management meetings and report status of all initiatives.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in an IT management role, preferably in the maritime or logistics industry.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP) will be considered a plus.
- Familiarity with maritime software systems and applications.
- Knowledge of data analytics and business intelligence hardware and software applications.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud services, and cybersecurity.
- Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
- Successful track record in implementing large scale IT-related change programs.
