Purpose

To manage the IT Development Teams, providing technical guidance, judgements, and directions to the team to align with the IT Strategy and business goals, while driving the IT development projects execution to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Primary Duties Performed

1. Work directly with the Chief Technology Officer to facilitate best industry IT development practice and culture by ensuring that the best collaboration with the IT Development team to be able to work together efficiently and effectively.
2. Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure that the IT Development Team and the used technologies are aligned with these.
3. Execute IT development projects in accordance to the processes defined by the IT Development Procedure along with the guidance from the IT Development working committee.
4. Direct the IT Development Team in all aspects of the development life cycle, including design, development, coding, testing, and debugging, to deliver high-quality solutions.
5. Integrate and allow best collaboration between the three arms of the IT Development unit (Application Development, Web Development and System Analyst).
6. Define tasks and required resources of the IT Development projects such as tools, equipment, and manpower.
7. Use project management tools to track IT Development projects performance and schedule adherence.
8. Monitor all IT Development Projects tasks and ensure the projects are on track.
9. Manage and oversee the design and maintenance measures of all development databases.
10. Lead the IT Development working groups to facilitate the following:
1. IT Development Requirements and Specification
2. IT Development Architecture and Design for products
3. IT Development Implementation
4. IT Development Quality Assurance practice
5. IT Development Deployment
6. IT Development Maintenance
11. Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to the team to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
12. Improve the IT Development testing frameworks and infrastructure.
13. Ensure that software quality standards are met by enforcing code standards, conducting rigorous testing, and implementing continuous improvement processes.
14. Mentor and guide IT Development team members, fostering their professional growth, and encouraging the adoption of industry best practices.
15. Assist in the implementation of the IT strategies, budgets, policies, and procedures.
16. Prioritize the execution and the implementation of the IT Development projects.
17. Coordinate with the IT Security Officer to enhance the security and risk assessment of the IT Developed Solutions.
18. Renew the contracts under IT Development by checking with vendors and reviewing the contracts with the Management.
19. Be in charge of and hold the IT Development Documentations as per the IT Development procedures.
20. Ensure the confidentiality and protection of IT Development code and data.
21. Develop improvement plans for the entire IT development solutions on a regular basis.
22. Assist in managing crisis situations, involving complex technical hardware or software problems and ensure adequate provision for business continuity and disaster recovery.
23. Undertake such other tasks as and when required by the Chief Technology Officer.
