IT Administrator

REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

CERTIFICATIONS: CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) are desirable.

Job Summary:

As an IT Administrator, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining an organization's Information Technology infrastructure. This position involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of IT systems, providing technical support to end-users, implementing and managing security measures, and ensuring the overall efficiency and reliability of the IT environment.

Responsibilities:

1. System Administration:
   1. Administer and maintain servers, workstations, and other IT infrastructure components.
   2. Install, configure, and update operating systems, software applications, and patches.
   3. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system resources.
2. User Support:
   1. Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software-related issues.
   2. Assist in the setup and configuration of user accounts, email, and other access credentials.
   3. Conduct user training sessions to enhance overall IT literacy within the organization.
3. Network Management:
   1. Manage and maintain the organization's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
   2. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and implement necessary solutions.
   3. Implement and manage network security measures to protect against unauthorized access.
4. VoIP Network Management:
   1. Manage and maintain the organization's VoIP network infrastructure (AVAYA), including VoIP servers, switches, and related devices.
   2. Troubleshoot VoIP network connectivity issues and implement necessary solutions.
   3. Implement and manage VoIP-specific security measures to protect against unauthorized access.
5. Data Backup and Recovery:
   1. Develop and implement data backup and recovery procedures.
   2. Regularly test and verify data backups to ensure data integrity and availability in case of system failures.
6. Security Management:
   1. Implement and manage security protocols to safeguard the organization's IT assets.
   2. Monitor for security breaches and promptly respond to security incidents.
   3. Stay updated on the latest cyber security threats and implement preventive measures.
7. Hardware and Software Procurement:
   1. Collaborate with vendors to procure hardware and software components.
   2. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve the organization's IT infrastructure.
8. Documentation:
   1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
   2. Create and update user manuals and IT policies.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
2. Proven experience in IT administration, system maintenance, and user support.
3. Proficiency in operating systems, networking, and security protocols.
4. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) are desirable.
