Irrigation Design Engineer - BIM

Connexa Recruitment are working in partnership with an award-winning International Landscape Architectural Design practice who are looking for an Irrigation Design Engineer with a strong proficiency within BIM in their Dubai office.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Irrigation Design Engineer with proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM).

This role involves designing and managing irrigation systems, coordinating with other engineering disciplines, and leveraging BIM technologies to optimize design, planning, and project execution. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in irrigation engineering, an in-depth understanding of BIM software, and a proven ability to collaborate on multidisciplinary landscape design projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Development:

• Develop and design efficient, sustainable irrigation systems tailored to client requirements for various landscapes, agricultural fields, or urban projects.
• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses, ensuring effective water management and conservation strategies.
• Integrate environmental and regulatory standards into irrigation designs.

BIM Coordination:

• Utilize BIM software (such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, or Civil 3D) to create 3D models and develop precise designs of irrigation systems.
• Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and other professionals to coordinate design information across multidisciplinary teams.
• Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts in coordination with other utilities and infrastructure components.

Project Planning and Management:

• Prepare and review project documentation, including technical specifications, reports, and construction drawings.
• Oversee project timelines, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within scope.
• Conduct site assessments and work with construction teams to implement designs accurately.

Technical Support and Quality Assurance:

• Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptual design to construction and maintenance.
• Ensure that all irrigation designs adhere to industry standards, sustainability practices, and regulatory guidelines.
• Conduct quality control inspections and provide recommendations to optimize system performance.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in irrigation engineering and BIM technology.
• Identify and implement innovative practices and tools to enhance project efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in irrigation design and engineering, with a strong background in BIM modeling and coordination.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in BIM software (Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of hydrological modeling, hydraulic calculations, and water management systems.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, GIS applications, and other design and mapping tools.

Knowledge:

• Understanding of industry standards and best practices in irrigation and water conservation.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations, codes, and standards related to irrigation systems.

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
