Investment Transactions Auditor

Black Pearl
Abu Dhabi
AED 120,000 - 200,000
Job description

Our client is a large investment firm based in Abu Dhabi currently recruiting for an Investment Transactions Auditor who will perform pre- and post-audit checks on all assigned transactions in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner.

As an Investment Transactions Auditor, your primary responsibility is to ensure the accuracy and compliance of all investment transaction payments before funds are wired. This includes a comprehensive audit of various transaction types such as:

  1. Money market instruments
  2. Placements
  3. Internal equity / bond trades
  4. Derivatives (including FX, NDFs, swaps, options, futures)
  5. Direct investments
  6. Joint ventures
  7. Co-investments
  8. IPOs
  9. Daily margin settlements with FCMs / prime brokers
  10. CSA settlements for derivatives
  11. Capital call transactions related to external fund managers / GPs
  12. Management and performance fees

Additionally, your role involves auditing investment receipts to verify their sources and ensure appropriate pre-advice to placement banks, adhering to established protocols with the company's counterparties. You will also perform 2nd signatory verification in SWIFT as mandated by AIM Bloomberg Swift protocol and act as the final approver / audit check for SSI maintenance.

The role extends to conducting audit checks in AIM Bloomberg for trade confirmations per ISDA protocol, issuing receive / pay messages for security trades with custodians, and pre-advice for receipts / payments to counterparties. Regular periodic reviews of AIM Bloomberg workflows, transaction codes, message types, user access profiles, and control reports are essential to identify control issues or inefficiencies. You will also be responsible for auditing the master payroll database for any changes, weekly / monthly payroll runs, and miscellaneous personnel benefits, as well as the company’s expense transactions and vendor payments, ensuring compliance with governance requirements and internal rules. In cases where supporting documentation does not meet governance or agreed protocol requirements, you will develop alternate solutions and escalate them to the senior manager / director.

In addition to these audit functions, you will initiate and participate in reviews of internal processes, procedures, and policies to identify internal control weaknesses, efficiencies, and other improvements. This includes participating in internal committees to discuss similar issues or projects and assisting in developing responses to inter-departmental queries on policy applications. For unique or new investment transactions, you will engage in advance discussions with necessary departments to understand the transaction background, ensure banking arrangements and governance standards align with company procedures, and develop practical solutions to resolve any payment issues before the funding date.
