Investment Principal

The Investment Principal role is a critical role in BECO's investment team, and offers a unique opportunity to shape a new strategy for one of the region's largest non-governmental venture capital firms. As a key member of the investment team, you'll be working directly with the General Partners to assess deals and portfolio companies and serve as the crucial link between BECO and our founders. Responsibilities

1. Portfolio Oversight: Lead portfolio monitoring, ensuring regular and accurate data collection and producing recommendations for portfolio management. Drive portfolio reviews and prepare strategic summaries for senior leadership.
2. Due Diligence Leadership: Lead due diligence for new deals and follow-on rounds, collaborating with General Partner to ensure thorough and timely analysis aligned with investment criteria.
3. Investment Memos and Deal Primers: Own and finalize investment memos and deal primers, ensuring high-quality deliverables ready for partner review.
4. Valuation and Risk Analysis: Oversee valuation models and sensitivity analyses, assessing risks and testing scenarios for potential returns. Mentor junior team members in these processes.
5. Product and Service Evaluation: Lead product demos and testing, providing strategic feedback and comparisons to inform investment decisions.
6. Market and Economic Analysis: Direct market research and analysis to identify high-impact opportunities and emerging risks, ensuring actionable insights for the investment team.
7. Legal Documentation: Work with legal counsel to review and execute all investment-related legal documents, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
8. Strategic Input: Contribute to the firm’s investment strategy, providing thought leadership and driving discussions on market trends and investment themes.

Desired Candidate Profile

1. 6-8 years in an investment role in growth-stage VC, public markets, or investment banking.
2. Excellent financial modelling and analytical skills, coupled with strong commercial acumen and critical thinking.
3. Demonstrated success at preparing and presenting investment memos, reports, and insights for senior management.
4. Highly detail-oriented, ensuring that all aspects of due diligence, valuation, and legal documentation are meticulously handled.
5. Self-motivated, adaptable, and resilient; thriving in fast-paced environments.
6. Digitally native and tech-savvy; has a propensity to leverage tech to make themselves efficient in their work and use data-driven insights for the continuous improvement of deal sourcing.
7. Experience working in MENA or the GCC is a bonus.
