Inventory Clerk for Retail Hypermarket

Responsibilities:

1. Conducting daily inventory checks and reconciling inventory discrepancies.
2. Maintaining accurate inventory records and updating inventory management software or systems.
3. Monitoring inventory levels and replenishing stock as necessary.
4. Identifying slow-moving or obsolete inventory and making recommendations for disposal or clearance.
5. Coordinating with other departments to ensure the timely receipt and delivery of goods.
6. Preparing inventory reports for management, including stock levels, ordering trends, and financial summaries.
7. Conducting physical inventory counts and audits to ensure that inventory levels are accurate.
8. Identifying and resolving any inventory-related issues or discrepancies before they become problems.
9. Assisting with the preparation of budgets and forecasts for inventory levels and costs.
10. Ensuring that inventory storage areas are clean, organized, and secure.
11. Entering and updating information about stock levels, product arrivals, and product categories into the supermarket's inventory management system.
12. Tracking and recording inventory discrepancies and adjustments.
13. Assisting with regular stock audits and reconciliation processes.
14. Entering and maintaining detailed product information, including prices, descriptions, and promotions.
15. Updating records for new product launches and discontinuations.
16. Processing and tracking purchase orders from suppliers.
17. Updating data related to order statuses, including shipment tracking and delivery confirmations.
18. Processing internal transfers in/out in the inventory management system.
19. Generating reports related to inventory, sales, and other key metrics.
20. Preparing and maintaining documentation for auditing and compliance purposes.
21. Reviewing and verifying the accuracy of data entered into systems.
22. Correcting errors and discrepancies as needed.
23. Assisting with troubleshooting and resolving data entry system issues.
24. Participating in system upgrades and providing feedback on data management tools.
25. Working with other departments (e.g., purchasing, sales, and finance) to ensure data accuracy and support operational needs.
26. Providing data-related support for management and staff as required.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent; additional education in inventory management is a plus.
2. Strong organizational and time management skills.
3. Attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping.
4. Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
5. Proficiency in inventory management software or systems.
6. Basic math skills and the ability to perform calculations using computer programs.
7. Good communication skills for coordinating with other departments and vendors.
8. Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as well as to stand or walk for long periods of time.
9. Flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekends.
10. Prior experience in inventory management, logistics, or a related field may be preferred.
