Internal Auditor (Accounts)

Job Summary:
The Internal Auditor ensures the establishment of robust internal controls, compliance with financial regulations, and operational excellence. The position involves strategic planning, risk assessment, process improvement, and ensuring the implementation of recommendations to strengthen the organization's governance framework. The Internal Auditor will collaborate with senior management to drive accountability and maintain the financial and operational integrity of Palace Group.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Audit Strategy and Framework:
   Develop and implement the organization’s internal audit strategy tailored to the needs of a family-managed business. Establish a comprehensive audit framework that evaluates financial transactions, procurement processes, and operational controls.
2. Risk Management and Internal Controls:
   Design and implement internal control systems to identify and mitigate risks associated with financial operations, procurement, and project expenses. Conduct risk assessments specific to the company’s business model and identify key vulnerabilities in accounting and operational practices.
3. Audit Execution:
   Perform detailed audits of financial records, contracts, vendor payments, and project budgets to ensure accuracy and compliance. Verify adherence to project-specific financial guidelines and identify discrepancies or inefficiencies.
4. Process and Policy Improvement:
   Analyze current financial and operational processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for cost optimization. Recommend and enforce revised policies to strengthen internal controls and enhance operational transparency.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration:
   Work closely with senior management to address financial control issues and align audit recommendations with business objectives. Liaise with external auditors and consultants to ensure accurate reporting and regulatory compliance.
6. Reporting and Communication:
   Prepare detailed audit reports for the owner and senior management, focusing on key findings, financial risks, and actionable recommendations. Ensure audit documentation is accurate, organized, and easily accessible for review.
7. Compliance and Governance:
   Ensure compliance with UAE tax regulations, VAT reporting, and other local financial laws. Monitor adherence to internal financial policies and recommend updates in response to regulatory changes.

Desired Candidate Profile:

1. Education:
   Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., CPA, CIA, ACCA) are highly preferred.
2. Experience:
   Minimum 10 years of experience in internal audit or financial management roles. Prior experience in the construction, real estate, or luxury development sectors is highly desirable.
3. Technical Skills:
   Proficiency in ERP systems, including ePROMIS, and financial auditing tools. Strong knowledge of IFRS and local UAE financial regulations. Advanced skills in data analytics and risk assessment methodologies. Strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate complex financial operations. Exceptional communication skills to present findings and recommendations effectively. High level of integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive financial data. Proficiency in managing tasks independently while meeting strict deadlines. Strong focus on detail and accuracy in financial evaluations.
