Job Title: Design Coordinator

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders.
• Work with the bid team/estimators to understand upcoming projects and provide expert advice as necessary.
• Attend design meetings and conduct site surveys as required to ensure a full understanding of project requirements.
• Identify potential challenges early in the project and raise them with the design director in a timely manner.
• Identify, record, and communicate all known design changes to the financial department as soon as they are known.
• Attend team design meetings as required.
• Conduct site meetings as necessary.
• Liaise with internal teams and site managers to ensure effective and timely handover of drawings for production.
• Create production drawings using relevant systems for manufacturing purposes specifically for joinery and associated materials.
• Audit and update the predicted drawing issue schedule from project start-up meetings.
• Formulate a drawing issue schedule and record outgoing and incoming drawings.
• Produce detailed surveys and design drawings or allocate and monitor work to consultants.

Skills:

• Previous experience as a Design Coordinator is advantageous.
• Attention to detail and a strong desire for accuracy.
• Good organizational skills.
• A flexible and proactive approach to work is essential.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Fluent in AutoCAD 2D minimum.
• Desirable: 3D CAD Software, Autodesk Inventor, and SketchUp.
• Desirable: Previous experience in a manufacturing business.
• Can join immediately.
