Interior Designer

We are seeking an Interior Designer with a strong passion for design. In this position, you will collaborate with our Design Directors and design leadership on a variety of exciting projects.

What You Will Do

1. An integral part of the design team, you will lead towards a cohesive and rational design solution which conforms to the project brief and is technically, legally and financially responsible.
2. Guide skill development of junior designers.
3. Contribute to and reinforce the team effort method of producing design projects.
4. Take responsibility for implementing approved briefing approach.
5. Prepare the design analysis and research.
6. Lead project meetings at the discretion of the Design Manager.
7. Solve complex design problems through schematic design and design development.
8. Oversee the preparation of graphic materials for presentation to the client.
9. Research and recommend appropriate systems, materials, and finishes.
10. Present design schemes and documents to the client with the Design Manager.
11. Oversee the design development package for production.
12. Work with technical coordinators and technical team to ensure design intent is accurately interpreted in documents.
13. With Design Manager, liaise as necessary with the client on issues of design.
14. Develop strategic planning, conceptual designs, design development, and production.
15. Perform interior design assignments that include conceptual design, schematic design, design development & construction documents.
16. Provide design support for completion and execution of design projects.
17. Develop space planning concepts and generate program documents.
18. Participate in selection of FF&E color palettes & material presentations and generate specifications.
19. Participate in business development efforts as well as exciting design and research projects and bring a new perspective to what we do for our clients.
20. Support project sustainability targets throughout project phases and actively engage in delivering them. Coordinate sustainability targets with project consultants and engineers.
21. Implement sustainable design strategies in every project stage and investigate solutions to sustainable design challenges.
22. Work collaboratively with the team to optimize sustainability performance through design iterations and research.
23. Lead climate-focused analysis and studies for each project.
24. Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs.

Your Qualifications

1. 5+ years professional experience including proven track record of contributing to the design of commercial, retail or hospitality interiors projects.
2. Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of design.
3. Strong planning abilities and have the ability to mentor team members, offer guidance and leadership.
4. Strong skills in client relationship management and presentation.
5. Must be a motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to problem-solve both individually and as a part of a project team.
6. Proficiency in the use of Revit and other 3D computer design programs.
7. Proficient in Creative Adobe Suite applications specifically InDesign.
8. Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials and specifications.
9. Strong graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas.
10. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
11. LEED, WELL, Fitwel, LFA or other rating systems accreditation preferable.
12. Previous experience in sustainable design projects preferable. Especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel and/or Net Zero Building certification.
13. Demonstrate a collaborative and integrated approach towards achieving high sustainability project goals.

Your Design Technology Qualifications

1. Good working knowledge and experience in Autodesk Revit for design authoring, documentation, data extracts and project delivery.
2. Good knowledge and experience with real-time rendering processes, and material creation & management within the context of integrated BIM and parametric workflows.
3. Basic understanding of the setting up of new models.
