Job Summary :

We are looking to hire a very skilled Interior Decorator Carpenter for one of our construction companies in Al Ain. A Skilled Interior Decorator Carpenter is responsible for creating and installing custom wood works and furniture while ensuring that design concepts align with the overall interior decoration theme. This role requires a combination of advanced carpentry skills and a strong understanding of design principles, enabling the creation of both functional and visually appealing spaces.

Key Responsibilities :

Woodwork Design and Installation :

1. Design, create, and install custom woodwork items, such as furniture (e.g., cabinets, shelves, desks), wall paneling, doors, window frames, and decorative trim.
2. Ensure that all wood pieces are constructed with precision, durability, and alignment to the design vision.

Interior Design Consultation :

1. Collaborate with clients or interior designers to understand the client's vision, space requirements, and aesthetic preferences.
2. Suggest design ideas and solutions that incorporate functionality and style, focusing on maximizing space utility and creating an inviting atmosphere.

Custom Furniture Creation :

1. Develop bespoke furniture based on client needs, including modifications to existing pieces or creating entirely new designs.
2. Select materials (wood, veneers, finishes) that match the design theme and ensure longevity and quality.

Space Planning and Layout :

1. Plan and conceptualize how the woodwork integrates into the overall interior design of the room or space.
2. Ensure seamless integration of carpentry elements with existing interior features (e.g., walls, flooring, and lighting).

Measurements and Installation :

1. Take accurate measurements of spaces to ensure proper fitting of furniture and custom installations.
2. Safely install wooden structures, ensuring precise fitting, durability, and functionality.

Finishing and Detailing :

1. Apply finishing touches, including sanding, staining, painting, and polishing, to enhance the appearance of woodwork.
2. Ensure that woodwork pieces are free from imperfections and meet design specifications.

Repairs and Renovations :

1. Repair or renovate old or damaged furniture or wooden structures in a way that matches the overall design theme.
2. Offer suggestions for upgrades or modifications that align with the client’s evolving interior needs.

Health and Safety Compliance :

1. Ensure that all carpentry tasks are carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
2. Properly use and maintain tools and equipment, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.

Skills & Qualifications :

Education :

1. High school diploma or equivalent; formal carpentry training or apprenticeship is preferred.
2. Certification or degree in Interior Design or a related field (a plus).

Experience :

1. Proven experience as a carpenter, with a strong portfolio of previous interior decoration and carpentry projects.
2. Experience with advanced woodworking tools and techniques.
3. Strong understanding of interior design principles and styles.

Skills :

1. Proficient in woodworking techniques, including cutting, sanding, shaping, and finishing wood.
2. Ability to interpret and execute design plans and blueprints.
3. Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
4. Proficient with power tools and hand tools commonly used in carpentry.
5. Ability to work collaboratively with designers, architects, and other team members.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing client needs or design revisions.

2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
4. Knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly woodworking practices (preferred).
5. Physical stamina for manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.

Working Conditions :

1. Location : On-site at client properties, showrooms, or workshops.
2. Hours : Full-time, with occasional weekend or overtime hours depending on project deadlines.
3. Work Environment : May involve working indoors or outdoors, in a variety of conditions such as workshops, construction sites, or client homes.
