Instructional Designer

The American University in the Emirates is searching for an Instructional Designer to enhance the university's academic programs by developing blended and online learning resources for both instructors and students. The main objective is to expand the delivery of blended learning across academic programs, assisting faculty and department chairs in redefining curricula and course assessments. This incorporates blended learning with a focus on student engagement, ensuring that learning is equally effective in both face-to-face and virtual modalities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master's Degree in Education or related field from an accredited university
• 3 to 5 years academic and administrative experience in a university
• Preferably bilingual (speaks English and Arabic fluently)

Skills / Training / Knowledge

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with faculty and students.
• Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
• Maintains a professional image and relationships with faculty/students and all stakeholders.
• Project management skills for handling timelines, resources, and faculty collaboration.
• Experience in Quality Assurance, implementing and monitoring Policies and Procedures
• Knowledge of University programs and operations including Administrative and Academic affairs is preferred.

Job Description

1. Develop high-quality, engaging educational materials for use in both online and blended learning environments.
2. Work closely with faculty and department chairs to redesign curricula and assessments, incorporating blended learning methodologies.
3. Assist in the integration of blended learning approaches into various academic programs to meet diverse student needs and learning styles.
4. Develop strategies and tools to ensure that learning is engaging and effective, regardless of the modality.
5. Provide training and support for instructors on best practices for blended and online learning.
6. Continuously assess and improve the quality of learning resources to ensure they meet educational standards and student needs.
7. Aid in the development and implementation of new courses and programs that incorporate blended learning.
8. Identify and utilize the latest educational technologies to enhance learning experiences.
9. Develop and implement assessment tools that effectively measure student learning outcomes in blended and online environments.
10. Ensure all learning resources and programs adhere to the university’s quality standards and educational goals.
11. Stay updated with current trends in educational technology and instructional design, applying innovative practices to the development of learning resources.
12. Collect feedback from students and instructors to continually refine and improve blended and online learning experiences.
