Position: Inspector, Conformity Engineer

An exciting opportunity is available for a Conformity Engineer, based in UAE who will report directly to the Head of Conformity, International Trade Services.

Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Conformity Engineer who will:

1. Evaluate, review, and approve the conformity assessment process.
2. Carry out routine assessment and testing to assure quality, safety, reliability, and system integrity of processes and equipment against relevant/applicable standards.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

1. Maintaining the integrity of the company name & brand.
2. Advising on certification requirements and other details for specific product categories.
3. Updating and maintaining understanding of international and regional standards and schemes.
4. Ensuring maintenance & improvement of competency and qualification as a Conformity Engineer as per the required standards and other applicable codes, regulations, and organizational requirements.
5. Providing quality, scientific, and technical knowledge of the products as per the relevant Scheme.
6. Ensuring correct and timely issuance of Conformity Certificates.
7. Maintaining KPI and targets of the International Trade Services department.
8. Identifying product-specific requirements, standards, relevant schemes, and assessing accordingly.
9. Preparing Technical Instructions relevant to the products and scheme.
10. Providing timely and effective responses to client enquiries regarding product requirements and standards.
11. Identifying non-complying products and maintaining records for the same.
12. Developing and maintaining process procedures for departmental activities.
13. Escalating high-risk matters to management.
14. Ensuring client and vendor integrity management.
15. Managing customer relationships and effective handling of customer complaints.
16. Performing other conformity-related tasks assigned by management.
17. Complying with all applicable policies, procedures, and work instructions as per QHSE, ISO standards, and legal/regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualification and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Engineering/Science in Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Food or related field).
2. Pre-qualification with relevant authorities (added advantage).
3. Business & Industry Knowledge.
4. 1 year experience with ESMA in the field of inspection, testing, and QC/QA (added advantage).
5. Work experience in similar organizations (added advantage).

Knowledge & Skills Required:

1. Attention to detail.
2. Fluency in English language with excellent communication (written & oral) skills.
3. Knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel).
