Job description
The American University in the Emirates is searching for a Senior Manager in charge of Innovative Learning Experiences and Academic Affairs Projects who will be responsible for leading initiatives that enhance experiential learning, foster academic innovation, and advance strategic academic projects. This role requires a dynamic leader with expertise in designing transformative learning experiences, driving interdisciplinary collaboration, and managing complex academic initiatives in alignment with institutional goals. The position works closely with senior academic leadership, faculty, and administrative departments to implement high-impact programs that support student success and institutional excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum Development, or a related field from an accredited institution
Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in academic innovation, experiential learning, or academic project management
Proven track record in designing and implementing interdisciplinary and experiential learning initiatives
Strong strategic planning, project management, and organizational skills with experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects
Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Familiarity with emerging trends in higher education, innovative pedagogy, and competency-based learning models
Experience working with faculty, academic leadership, and external partners in an academic setting
Preferably bilingual (speaks English and Arabic fluently)

Job Description
Develop and leads initiatives that enhance experiential, peer, and competency-based learning to prepare students for future challenges and ready for market needs.
Design and directs cross-disciplinary programs that foster creativity, problem-solving, and transdisciplinary collaboration among students and faculty.
Implement cutting-edge pedagogical approaches, leveraging emerging technologies and research-driven best practices in teaching and learning.
Promote and scales innovative learning models, including project-based learning, co-curricular initiatives, and industry partnerships.
Collaborate with colleges, faculty, departments, and external stakeholders to integrate innovative learning strategies across academic programs.
Work in close coordination with the provost, VPs, deans, and AUE leadership to develop and implement strategic academic initiatives.
Lead planning, alignment, and execution of large-scale, complex academic projects that enhance institutional effectiveness and student learning outcomes.
Ensure cross-functional collaboration across academic and non-academic divisions to achieve strategic priorities.
Conduct research, benchmarking, and data analysis to inform decision-making and optimize academic initiatives.
Develop frameworks, policies and procedures, and structures to support the long-term sustainability of academic projects.
