Information Technology Infrastructure Manager

Job Purpose:

The IT Infrastructure Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient, secure, and reliable operation of the RAKEZ IT infrastructure, encompassing cloud solutions, servers, networks, storage, telecommunication, AV solutions, access controls, and end-user systems. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust infrastructure solutions that align with business goals while optimizing performance and scalability. The IT Infrastructure Manager oversees daily operations, manages vendor relationships, and ensures compliance with security and regulatory standards. Additionally, they lead the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies, develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans, and manage infrastructure projects to enhance efficiency and resilience. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, they aim to deliver seamless IT services, support organizational growth, and drive technological innovation.

Core Accountabilities

• Develop and implement IT infrastructure strategies aligned with business goals.
• Plan for capacity, scalability, and future technology needs to support growth and digital transformation initiatives.
• Conduct regular infrastructure assessments and recommend improvements.
• Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of LAN/WAN networks, servers, storage, voice and cloud systems.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and security of all IT infrastructure components.
• Manage connectivity, communication, storage, and compute for all infrastructure devices to ensure secure connectivity.
• Manage data centre operations, including hardware, virtualization, backups, and disaster recovery setups.
• Oversee cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, SaaS etc.) ensuring optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and security.
• Implement automation to streamline infrastructure management.
• Ensure IT infrastructure security, adhering to best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Work with the cybersecurity team to identify risks, apply security patches, and monitor vulnerabilities.
• Maintain compliance with industry standards (ISO, ITIL, etc.).
• Manage contracts with IT vendors, service providers, and contractors.
• Evaluate vendor performance and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
• Lead the response to critical infrastructure incidents, ensuring quick resolution and root cause analysis.
• Implement proactive monitoring and management tools to minimize downtime.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for all systems and processes.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery (DR) plans and business continuity procedures.
• Conduct regular DR drills and audits to ensure readiness.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to minimize business impact during outages.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the IT infrastructure team, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• Define roles, set performance objectives, and conduct regular reviews.
• Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage stakeholders effectively.

Qualifications, Experience, & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or another related field.
• Networking Certifications (Cisco, Huawei, HPE Aruba) is required.
• Microsoft certifications related to cloud, servers, virtualization is required.
• Cyber Security Certifications is required.
• ITIL Certification is required.
• PMP Certification required.
• TOGAF Certification required.
• Storage and backup certification is an advantage
• 10 years of progressive experience in IT roles, with a solid foundation in managing IT infrastructure, networks, cloud environments, and systems. This experience should include at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity,
• Fluent in English (Arabic is preferred).
• Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written).
• Strong project management skills and the ability to function in multiple roles based on project demands.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking and leadership of multidiscipline, high-performance work teams/groups.
• Proven ability to manage project financials and ability to estimate or assist in estimation of project cost.
• Proficient in computer software, applications and internet potentialities.
• Working knowledge of network and PC operating systems.
• Competence with testing, flowchart, and data mapping tools and procedures.
• Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
• Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
• Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
• Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
• Strong process orientation with significant attention to details and ability to resolve conflicts and complex issues.
• Results oriented & self-starter (Initiative).
• Problem solving abilities including self-confidence to ensure issues are escalated appropriately.
