As a professional in your role, your responsibilities and essential job functions will include but are not limited to:

  • Take accurate food and beverage orders from hotel guests via phone, in person, or through the hotel’s digital platforms (if applicable).
  • Provide personalized service, ensuring guests' needs are met and requests are handled professionally and promptly.
  • Be familiar with the in-room dining menu, including specials, and be able to provide guests with information or suggestions as needed.
  • Confirm orders with guests to ensure accuracy and completeness, including any dietary restrictions or special requests.
  • Relay orders to kitchen and bar staff, ensuring timely and correct preparation of items.
  • Accurately input orders into the system and maintain updated records of orders.
  • Ensure the correct items, including special requests and modifications, are delivered to the guests' rooms as per the order specifications.
  • Provide exceptional service, addressing any concerns or complaints in a professional and courteous manner, striving for guest satisfaction.
  • Work closely with the kitchen, housekeeping, and delivery staff to ensure seamless service.
  • If applicable, assist with the processing of payments, including handling cash or credit card transactions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the In-Room Dining work area, including all equipment, menus, and supplies.
  • Follow all hotel policies and procedures, particularly those related to health and safety, hygiene, and food safety regulations.
Ideally, you should possess some or all the following qualifications and experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Additional hospitality-related education is a plus.
  • Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a hotel, restaurant, or similar hospitality setting, is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when taking orders.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize orders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage items and the ability to make recommendations.
  • Basic computer skills for order entry and payment processing.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure when dealing with challenging situations.
  • A friendly, approachable, and customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry food and beverage items.
  • Comfortable working with food and beverages.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus, especially in multilingual environments.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Adhere to the hotel’s grooming and uniform standards.
