The Opportunity

The Fridge is seeking a skilled In-House AV Technician to join our team in Dubai and manage AV setups in our venue space. Working closely with the Technical Manager and Project Team, this role will assist in delivering exceptional audio visual experiences and live content.

The Successful Candidate will be

• Technically expert with strong organisational skills
• Capable of handling AV set ups, including patching
• Experienced in supporting freelance engineers during shows
• An effective communicator who collaborates well with artists and production teams
• Adaptable and solution-oriented in live situations
• Passionate about music and live entertainment
• Flexible with working evenings and weekends as required

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain functionality of all AV assets (instruments, backline, microphones, speakers, amplifiers, LED wall, mixing consoles)
• Follow industry standards for proper storage and handling of equipment as set by Technical Manager
• Install cabling and patch according to Technical Manager/Audio Engineer specifications
• Set up backline and in-house instruments based on event-specific stage plots
• Diagnose, resolve and flag technical problems with sound, video, and lighting systems
• Collaborate with clients, artists, venue staff and Technical Manager on setup plans
• Track, prep and maintain inventory and equipment condition
• Guide visiting engineers and production teams when required
• Implement best practices for rigging, electrical safety, and cable management
• Follow Technical Manager's processes for equipment readiness
• Operate Audio, Video and Lighting for small to medium sized events

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 5 years in AV field or Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline (Audio Engineering, Live Sound Production, Music Technology, Broadcast Technology, Electrical Engineering with AV focus, or Theatre Production)
• Proven live show experience preferred; industry certifications (AVIXA CTS, Dante Level 2, L Acoustics) beneficial
