Unpack and install ICT equipment such as new computers and peripherals.
Maintain inventory file of all new equipment.
Ensure all new equipment is functional before it is distributed.
Set up equipment in offices, classrooms, and labs.
Set up accounts and profiles for all users.
Periodic printer maintenance such as head cleaning and alignment.
Re-fill printer toner and cartridges.
Responsible for booting systems and preloading software in preparation for classroom lessons.
Maintain a current inventory of hardware, software and passwords.
Communicate with users in assessing their ongoing needs, recommend best practices, effective solutions and implement to produce desired results.
Maintain records and manage log of all work undertaken.
Ensure the GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at all times.
Initiate effort and energy beyond the typical work day, where the tasks require additional commitment.
Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
Perform other duties as requested by direct & dotted reporting line managers/supervisors.
Skills and Qualifications / Knowledge
Degree in Computer Science
Desirable certifications: MCSE, MCSA, CCNA
Skills
Working knowledge of Windows server 2003, AD, DNS, DHCP, IIS, and Network technologies.
Experience
A minimum of three (3) years’ experience providing IT Helpdesk support and related services to a large organization.
