I&S and Economics Teacher

Job Description
We are looking for a qualified Individuals & Societies (Humanities) and Economics Teacher to join our established team at GEMS Education, Dubai, starting in January 2025.

Skills
The ideal candidate should have a strong track record in effective teaching and helping students succeed. While experience in teaching the IB Middle Years and Diploma programmes is preferred, outstanding teachers from any curriculum background are encouraged to apply. Alignment with the IB philosophy and commitment to the Learner Profile values are crucial. A genuine passion for working in a non-selective and culturally diverse community is also a key requirement. Additionally, the candidate should possess:

1. A certified professional teaching qualification at degree level, such as B. Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent specialism in Economics, History, Geography, Humanities, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Economics, Business Management or World Religions.
2. A minimum of 2 years experience teaching in a similar role, ideally within an IB curriculum school; however, this is not mandatory.
3. Ability to teach DP Economics.
4. Availability from January 2025.
5. The experience, personality and educational philosophy to drive further the education agenda at this flagship GEMS school with an international student body.
6. The desire to provide outstanding teaching and learning.
