Job Opening

For our new office in Dubai, we are looking for a Hydrology and Drainage Engineer - 100% (m/f) with experience in the Middle East. PINI Group is seeking a talented and agile middle Hydrology and Drainage Engineer to join our fast-growing Dubai office.

Responsibilities

  1. Independently undertake hydrological analysis including rainfall analysis, catchment delineation, and peak flow estimation, using widely recognised software such as WMS and HEC-HMS.
  2. Studying and developing flood mitigation countermeasures and stormwater networks with minimum supervision, using widely recognised software such as SEWER GEMS.
  3. Perform 2D hydraulic simulations autonomously, using widely recognised software such as HEC-RAS and ICM Infoworks.
  4. Independently carry out the hydraulic design of culverts, using widely recognised software such as HY8 or Culvert Master.
  5. Independently carry out the hydraulic computations of open flow drainage structures.
  6. Independently carry out the hydraulic design of bridges, performing scour studies and sizing the scour countermeasures.
  7. Preparation of technical reports.
  8. Drafting technical drawings.
  9. Supervise the Draftsmen in the preparation of the technical drawings.
  10. 3D modelling of the proposed solution in Civil3D.

Requirements

  1. Minimum or Mandatory of 5 years of experience in hydrology and stormwater drainage design.
  2. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a reputable University.
  3. Master's Degree in Hydraulics from a reputable University.
  4. Sound knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics principles.
  5. Working experience in road and rail projects.
  6. Working experience in the GCC region (min. 3 years) and knowledge of local design standards and procedures.
  7. Knowledge of international design standards and codes for hydrology and drainage design.
  8. Proficiency in computer-aided design and drafting software such as AUTOCAD and C3D.
  9. Proficiency in hydraulic software including HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, WMS, HY8, Hydraulic Toolbox, and SEWER GEMS.
  10. Agile with ARCGIS, Global Mapper, and Q-GIS.
  11. Sound knowledge of basic working software such as WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
  12. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications or Experience

  1. Licensed RTA Engineer.
  2. Chartered Engineer by the Society of Engineers of Dubai.
  3. Knowledge of user wide measurement standards including CESM.
  4. Professional qualification (ICE, CIWEM, etc.).
  5. PhD in one of the main Hydraulics Sub-Disciplines.
  6. Knowledge of Sustainable Drainage Design principles and criteria.
  7. Experienced in working with Dynamo, Subassembly, Conocere, Inventor, and Infraworks.
  8. Experienced in working with Infoworks ICM.
  9. Experienced in working with Excel VBA.
  10. Experienced in working with other programming languages (i.e., Python) to automate hydraulic design tasks and create personalized solutions.
