HVAC Project Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop and review HVAC design documents, including secondary chilled water networks, ductwork, and piping systems.
• Calculate duct and pipe parameters to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
• Specify and select appropriate insulation types based on system requirements and environmental conditions.
• Ensure designs comply with local codes and standards, including ACH (air changes per hour) requirements.
• Oversee HVAC project execution, ensuring that installations meet design specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate HVAC systems with overall building design.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to meet project goals.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks.
• Utilize knowledge of air handler components to ensure proper selection and installation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to HVAC systems.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technological advancements.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other team members to ensure smooth project execution.
• Prepare and present progress reports, technical documentation, and recommendations to project stakeholders.
• Facilitate clear communication between the MEP department and other departments involved in the project.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in HVAC project engineering, with a focus on high-rise building construction.
• Proven experience in the UAE construction market, with a deep understanding of local regulations and standards.
• Strong knowledge of secondary chilled water networks, duct and pipe parameter calculations, insulation types, and air handler components.
• Proficiency in HVAC design software and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong project management and organizational abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
