HVAC Design Engineer

Minimum Qualifications

1. Educational Background: A bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
2. Professional Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, focusing on designing HVAC for various applications, with a proven track record of successfully completed HVAC engineering projects.
3. Proficiency: Proficiency in HVAC modeling software and tools including Revit, AutoCAD, and HAP.
4. HVAC Design Experience: Experience in delivering HVAC design, producing ventilation system design deliverables, i.e., Ventilation Flow Diagrams (VFDs), Basis of Design (BoD), Plant Sizing Calculations (Heating/Cooling/Fan Sizing), and Control Philosophy.
5. Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of fluid mechanics, pipe flow, pump selection, and chilled water system design.
6. Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of local and international codes and standards related to HVAC engineering.
7. Compliance Experience: Experience ensuring projects comply with relevant regulations and permitting requirements.
8. Report Writing: Report writing expertise.
9. Commercial Awareness: Demonstrates working knowledge of external forces impacting GHD; financial, market, economic, legal, and regulatory environments and how GHD responds to them commercially.
10. Agile Learning: Actively learns through experimentation and experience and seeks ways to grow and to be challenged by new and novel conditions.
