Job Purpose

The HR Manager oversees and optimizes the HR function's operational aspects, ensuring compliance with UAE labor laws, efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals. This role plays a critical part in maintaining effective HR processes, systems, and policies to support the employee lifecycle and enhance the employee experience. The HR Manager will also manage and oversee the recruitment process, leveraging LinkedIn Recruiter and other platforms to attract top talent for the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. HR Operations Management
    • Manage and oversee day-to-day HR Operations, including payroll, benefits administration, HR system management, employee records, and compliance with UAE Labor Laws.
    • Ensure accurate documentation for employee contracts, renewals, visas, and other legal requirements as per UAE law.
    • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with regulations regarding data protection and privacy laws.
    • Collaborate with the leadership team to implement effective HR policies and practices that align with the company’s objectives and legal requirements.
    • Ensure that HR is aligned with how a school should function effectively, particularly in terms of reporting structures and internal workflows, promoting collaboration and efficiency across departments.
  2. Recruitment and Talent Acquisition
    • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, conducting initial interviews, and facilitating the hiring process.
    • Utilize LinkedIn Recruiter to proactively engage with potential candidates, build talent pipelines, and ensure a consistent flow of quality candidates for current and future roles.
    • Partner with leadership to understand staffing needs and ensure recruitment strategies align with the company’s growth objectives.
    • Ensure a seamless onboarding process for new hires, ensuring compliance with all legal documentation and organizational requirements.
  3. Compliance and UAE Labor Laws
    • Stay up to date with the latest developments in UAE Labor Laws and ensure that all HR processes are fully compliant with legal requirements.
    • Guide employees and managers on labor laws, visa regulations, end-of-service benefits, and other legal matters.
    • Ensure proper handling of employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and terminations in accordance with UAE labor laws.
  4. HR Policy Development & Implementation
    • Develop, implement, and regularly review HR policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure alignment with local laws and organizational objectives.
    • Advise management on HR-related issues, ensuring all actions align with both company policies and UAE labor laws.
  5. Employee Relations and Performance Management
    • Foster positive employee relations by addressing concerns, managing conflicts, and creating a supportive work environment.
    • Support managers in performance management, including coaching, providing feedback, and implementing employee development programs.
  6. Reporting and HR Metrics
    • Generate reports and analyze HR data related to recruitment, employee turnover, training, and compliance to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
    • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to senior management on HR operations, recruitment trends, and employee engagement.
  7. Team Leadership and Collaboration
    • Coach, lead, and support the HR team, providing training and mentorship to improve performance and align with best practices.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including school leadership, department heads, and faculty, ensuring alignment on HR needs and priorities.
    • Act as an escalation point for complex employee queries and HR operational issues.
    • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, technology, and service delivery.
    • Drive initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of HR.
    • Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices to recommend innovative solutions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in HR Operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Experience in recruitment and talent acquisition, including strong proficiency with LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Knowledge of UAE Labor Laws: In-depth understanding and knowledge of UAE Labor Laws and regulations.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using HR software and tools (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter, HRIS, MS Office).
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Candidates with prior experience in a school or education environment will be highly desired, as this role requires a strong understanding of educational institutions' unique challenges and opportunities. Proven ability to navigate the complexities of the education sector, combined with strategic HR leadership, will be a significant advantage.
