Job description

Our client a major national-level bank based in the United Arab Emirates is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Human Resources Onboarding Team Lead to join the Human Capital Management team of the bank. This critical role in the human capital management team is a permanent one and will oversee the onboarding process for all new hires ensuring a seamless and positive transition of all new hires into the bank.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage a team of onboarding specialists providing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
  2. Design, develop, and implement comprehensive and engaging onboarding programs tailored to various roles within the bank including all departments/divisions of the bank and all seniority levels of new hires.
  3. Collaborate with other Human Capital Management colleagues, IT, Compliance, Security, and other relevant departments to ensure a smooth and compliant onboarding experience.
  4. Oversee all aspects of the onboarding process including background checks, KYC/AML compliance, regulatory training, paperwork completion, orientation sessions, systems access provisioning, and initial role-specific training.
  5. Ensure compliance with all applicable banking regulations including KYC/AML, data privacy, and security protocols throughout the onboarding process.
  6. Continuously evaluate and improve the onboarding program based on feedback from new hires, hiring managers, and stakeholders, identifying areas for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
  7. Develop and maintain onboarding materials, resources, and documentation ensuring accuracy and compliance with current regulations, policies, and procedures in the bank.
  8. Track and analyze onboarding metrics and KPIs of the onboarding team such as time-to-productivity, new hire satisfaction, and compliance adherence to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  9. Act as a point of contact for new hires addressing their questions and concerns throughout the onboarding process.
  10. Stay up-to-date on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and trends in onboarding within the banking sector.
  11. Manage vendor relationships related to background checks, compliance training, and other onboarding-related services.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree or a higher-level degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 7 years of experience in Human Capital Management with at least 2 years in a team lead or supervisory role.
  3. Experience in the banking or financial services industry is an additional advantage.
  4. Understanding of banking regulations including KYC/AML, data privacy, and security practices is an additional advantage.
  5. Proven experience in designing and implementing successful onboarding programs ideally within a regulated environment.
  6. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  7. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  9. Proficiency in HRIS systems and onboarding software.
  10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  11. Certification(s) in Human Capital Management is an additional advantage.
